Since 1960, Marine Laboratory in Punta Galeta Panama has devoted to the research of mangroves, coral reefs, marine pasture, fish and birds. This non-profit organization works to expand knowledge on the past, present and future of the tropical biodiversity. It offers an attractive option to national and foreign researchers interested in the tropical marine ecosystems and offers the community an intensive program on environmental education.
Location
How to get there?
From Panama City drive through the Transisthmian Highway to the north. After 80 kms drive you will reach a railway crossroad known as "Cuatro Altos." Turn to your right and continue straight for approximately 4 kms. to the end of the road to Isla Galeta where you will see a "welcome" sign. Continue driving for 5 kms. until you reach the Galeta Marine Laboratory.

Tropical Climate and average temperature is 79ºF.

You need to take bug repellent, jeans, sneakers or boots, and hat.
