Panama's compound of small islands in the Pacific Ocean has pristine beaches and emerald clear waters. Though pearls are no longer extracted from these islands, during the Spanish colony, these waters offered great wealth to those bold enough to dive in among sharks to hunt for pearls. Most of these islands are unexplored and invite the tourist to explore and admire them and practice either surfing, snorkeling or scuba diving. Islands like Contadora or San Jose have exotic facilities to stay in and enjoy the most attractive part of this group of islands, which is the incredible variety of marine species and sport fishing. People from around the world come to these paradise-like waters to look for the most famous species of fish. You will also have the opportunity to see whales, dolphins, and of course, sharks.
