Panama's Tourism Has Seen a Boom Beyond Panama City And Into the Rural Areas

Panama is truly on a the radar for being one of the fastest growing tourism  attractions   in the world.  The invasion of major hotels and building of more than 43 hotels here in Panama City is a proof that that the big boys in the industry, such as Hilton, Holiday Inn, Sheraton, Ritz Carlon and others have done the research and
are taking calculated risks to invest in Panama.   The bigger question is what to do with all these tourists when they arrive to Panama City and wish to travel beyond the city glamor.  Panama City is a great destination but most tourists will want to experience Panama beyond Panama City.

"Panama has much to offer to tourists who want to have a rural experience, and local flavor of Panama.  Panama is working very fast and hard to create a bridge between Panama City and the beautiful provinces which will eventually become true destinations for tourists.  This   increase  in tourist demand for destinations outside Panama City is  evident in increase in the supply of hotels in highly attractive areas of the country such  as Pedasi, Panama.  Pedasi  has some of the most beautiful, raw beaches in the world.   As the demand for hotels  increase in the interior of the country and because of this demand, the small hotel industry is growing with great support from the authorities in Panama.

We are already seeing the growth in tourism  is    causing a huge economic and labor injection to other provinces outside Panama City  reported a source at ATP.  This is truly a welcome news to the locals and labor force .     The demand is being felt  in Boquete as the hotels there are reporting more than 75% occupancy.

Cocle province remains the most attracting to investment in tourism.  Cocle recorded $ 34,940,536 in investments, and that is mostly owed to the inauguration  of  Hotel The
Bristol Buenaventura with 132 room occupancy. According to office of records at Ministry of Tourism (ATP) in Panama City, Panama.  Panama investment in the interior of the country was  some $ 48,649,024 in hotels, hostels and bungalows. This  represented an increase of 62% over 2009.  2011 shows no sign of slowing and it is expected that as Panama City's  increase in the hotel room capacity is in parallel growth to hotels   in the most tourist attraction provinces in the country.
