China yesterday celebrated as a family, as mandated by tradition, the entry into the new year. And if the Zodiac is here for months, going there for years. Here we have names such as Libra, Virgo and Taurus, however in China each year is linked to an animal from a list of twelve. 2011 corresponds to the Rabbit and hence the year of Rabbit. This friendly mammal seems to represent kindness, and good manners. But it also means economic stability. With the promise of a monster gift like this, it is no surprising that yesterday, what I saw all over Panama City was Chinese people smiling and being very excited about the new year.
Last night Amador Causeway seem to have hosted the entire Chinese population of Panama. The entire Causeway was practically shutdown. It was a wonderful scene and I enjoyed watching the festivities from far.
