Isla Cañas Panama Is The Most Important Turtle Egg Laying Location In Panama

Isla Cañas Panama located to the south of the Azuero Peninsula, is the most important turtle egg laying location in the Panamanian Pacific coast. Between the months of July and November, about 10,000 turtles arrive to the beaches of Isla Cañas to lay their eggs, making this 12 kilometer beach the stage for an unforgettable experience for nature lovers.

How to get there?

You may take a bus from the Albrook Transportation Terminal direct to Las Tablas. From Las Tablas you may take a bus on the route Las Tablas-Cañas, which will take you to the harbor where the boat drivers will take you to the island for $2.00 per person round-trip. You may also go via air from the Albrook Airport to the Chitre Airport and then take a bus to Las Tablas and take the same ride as above.

Tropical Climate and average temperature is 80ºF.

Suggestions

You need to take sunscreen, bug repellent,light clothing, bathing suit, hat and a flashlight for the night.
