New York Yankees have given Mariano Rivera " a proud Panamanian baseball player" a 2 year 30 million dollar contract.
Here is one Panamanian who will not have to worry about a jubilado (retiree) pension.
He got this contract at 41 and will continue playing for the New York Yankees.
Rivera, the Yankees closer, and most valuable player of the World Series had 33 saves in 45 games this year. He has served the Yankees for 15 seasons.
Carlos Lee,34, another Panamanian big league player who plays for the Houston Astros, is back home for the holiday season. He says that he is "100 percent healthy" after an injury stopped his season and is ready to lead his team in 2011.
