Isla Cañas Wildlife Sanctuary Panama is located  the district of Tonosi, province of Los Santos, this refuge owns a 13-kilometer long beach, which is a key spot for turtle egg-laying in the Panamanian Pacific shore, mainly of the Lapidochelis Olivacea kind. This refuge also protects an important mangrove ecosystem, which serves as habitat to several marine species.

You may board a bus from the Albrook Terminal, that will take you straight to Las Tablas. Once there, you may take a bus from Las Tablas to Cañas, whish will take you to the port where you will find the boats to take you the island. The boat trip costs $2.00. You may also take a flight to Chitre, from the Marcos A. Gelabert Airport in Albrook, and then take a bus to Las Tablas and keep going as previously mentioned.
