The name of the Park “Camino de Cruces” has a great historical and cultural value for our country. During the colonial era, the Spanish settlers used the route called Camino de Cruces to transport gold and pre-colombian treasures coming from Peru and Chile, from Panama City to Portobelo, where they left for Europe. The Camino de Cruces National Park protects more than 4,550 hectares of tropical rainforest in the Panama Canal hydrographic basin and as well serves to guarantee the constant flow of species between the Soberania and the Metropolitan parks and the continuance of the ecologic processes in the area.

How to get to Camino de Cruces?
To reach the Camino de Cruces National Park you may take the Madden road, along the Panama Canal seashore that takes you to the town of Gamboa or also via the entrance to Cerro Patacon.
