Panama's Big Carnival Officially Starts with Selecting "THE QUEEN OF CARNIVAL"

Carnival 2011 Panama's most awaited of the parties are very near.  The official start of the Carnival is selecting "The Queen". This process will be done on February 15th,  2011 Just days away from the start of Panamanians biggest and most awaited party.  The first day of Panama Carnival 2011 is set for March 4,2011.

In Panama City the  event will be held in the  coastal strip of Cinta Costera starting March 4th of 2011.   The official route of the Carnavl  2011 is from El Mercado del Marisco. to Calle 30 Este de Calidonia. The Panama City Carnival is scheduled  between 10:00 a.m.  to 3:00 p.m.  The  "shows" will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and have various themes, "Nuestros Mares" on Saturday, "Día Típico" on Sunday, "Flora and Fauna" on Monday and "Panamá Puente del Mundo Corazón del Universo" on Tuesday.http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=116050805105036&set=a.109704802406303.5454.100001003510201#!/photo.php?fbid=116051838438266&set=a.109704802406303.5454.100001003510201&pid=84748&id=100001003510201

Panama City, Panama Cinta Costera Just a few night ago

Just over a week ago, I was walking along the Panama City’s Balboa Avenue were Cinta Costera project. is located. This   was a successful massive project where they overhauled Panama’s waterfront from a drab and chaotic two-way street, and a rather run-down marina/yacht club and converted it into a pretty impressive open space and traffic thoroughfare.  I took many photos in a clear normal night  and here is one photo  I am sharing with you.

What’s most interesting about  Panama City's Cinta Costera is the fact that it was  finished it in less than 18 months! Amazing when you consider that the project includes several bridges and overpasses as well as an extension of several thousand cubic feet of earth to create more shoreline. The fact that something like this can be completed in record time in a place like Panama makes it all the more impressive. And more impressive is the mass of people walking and enjoying the route.

Cinta Costera Expansion is Almost Complete

 

There are more good news about beautiful Cinta Costera and Casco Viejo.

By February of 2011 t

he new extension of the Cinta Costera will be available for use and a direct connect to Casco Veijo will be 100 percent completed.  Automobiles are already using this area  however the pedestrian section is still under construction.  The Ministry of Public Works has confirmed completion of the plan on or about February of 2011.

There are some rapid improvements all around old Panama City Area.   Mercado Marsico is expanded and improved. Go check it out if you haven't.  Renovations and more renovation are on the way in Casco Viejo. Hundreds of old buildings are being  converted into hotels or apartments.  Panama is definitely growing and it shows.

Green connection between new and old

With the aforementioned expansion of the Cinta Costa, Panama's oceanfront boulevard will now have pedestrian, roller skating, and bicycle paths stretching all the way from the modern Skyscrapers of Patilla to the colonial Elegance of Casco Viejo.  Thousands of residences and hotel rooms will have easy access to this costal strip, where tourists may try their hand at tropical exercise or immerse themselves in one of the many seasonal parades planned for the area.

Pronto, la Cinta Costera de Panama ira desde Paitilla hasta el Casco Viejo.  Con amplio espacio para ejercicio o diversión, este área al lado del mar es una excelente manera ver la ciudad o ponerse en forma.  Con miles de residencias y cuartos de hotel por terminar cerca, y la limpieza de la bahía por venir, debe volverse aun mas popular muy pronto!
