Shelter Bay Marina Panama Is a Perfect Undiscovered Vacation Spot
Shelter Bay Marina is a undiscovered gem in the Caribbean side of the Panama Canal for those who transit and live in their boats. The place has spectacular views and with a new management team, a new attitude and a overhaul in the restaurant, this place might just be a perfect hidden getaway.
Shelter Bay Marina offers an unspoiled natural setting with easy access to Colon and Panama City. Featuring slips for vessels up to 245 feet, in an "all weather" protected bay. Shelter Bay is in a controlled access area, providing the best security for you and your boat. The new manager was telling me about boats that have been there for more than 5 years.
The marina provides free transportation to "Cuatro Altos" shopping center in our air conditioned 27 passenger bus at 8:00am Monday through Fridays. The bus leaves from the shopping center at 11:15 am to return back to the marina.
We sat in the restaurant and ordered 3 plates of food and drinks. The portions were adequate, the service was exceptional and the price was reasonable. I definitely will return to Shelter Bay Marina after the new chef creates his new Fusion menu.Posted via email from Clic Panamas Blog For Info, News, Updates, Fun About Panama And Tourism

Blackberry’s DatosPTY and Facebook 2.0 App Emphasizes Photos, Chat and Places from Inside Facebook is in alpha and beta testing ((tag:panama, panama city, tocumen airport, flight arrival, flight departure, datospty, facebook application, blackberry a
Panama- Panama City -While DatosPTY, the new application for flight arrival and flight departure from Tocumen airport is in Alpha Testing, Blackberry is improving the interconnect between Facebook and Blackberry. Facebook with more than 680million users is one of the fastest growing social networking sites on the planet. To download a free copy of datospty simply click on the link and become a fan
Blackberry’s new Facebook application, Facebook 2.0 in beta, is a big improvement over the previous version, which was cumbersome because it was designed with menu after menu to scroll through to do anything. The new application is much more sleek, easier to use and faster, to boot.
Facebook for Blackberry now has an interface that’s much easier to navigate on a phone. When you open the app, there are two drop-down menus, one on the left and one on the right. The menu on the left includes most of the Facebook functions: News Feed, Profile View, notifications, search, messages, friends, chat, Places, photos and options. The drop-down on the right Blackberry calls the “notifications bar” shows you daily updates of notifications, messages, friend requests and chat conversations you have received.
Which brings us to the highlight of Blackberry’s new Facebook app: chat. The chat function is part of the left drop-down menu and is simple to use. If you’re not already online to chat, the app will sign you in, and then friends you can chat with are indicated by a green circle, just like on Facebook. You may either press enter or send via the menu each time you type a message; although chatting on a phone isn’t as easy as on a computer, plus, many people already communicate short messages on their phones via text messages.
Blackberry has also chosen to emphasize photos and Places in the new Facebook application. Previously, these functions were part of a menu that ran across the top of the interface, whereas now the default or “home” interface weaves in the upload photos feature on the left, status update in the middle, and Places icon on the right. Which is to say, Blackberry’s new Facebook app is designed to be as useful as possible to users connecting via mobile phone.
The app also creates utility by making Facebook more like a phone book, when users look up a friend or look at their profile the menu allows you to see their Facebook information — such as Wall, photos, information, poke, view mutual friends — but also to call them if you have their phone number, connect via Blackberry Contacts if you do not and request their phone number.
Comments and Likes used to be displayed in small print underneath each item in your news feed, but now next to each item is a + symbol which Blackberry calls the “more button,” which is where users can go to to comment or Like a post.
Blackberry wrote yesterday that more than 10,000 downloads had occurred in 24 hours since the apps’ release, since it’s still in beta, the company released 10,000 more. The update brings Blackberry’s Facebook app up to speed with recent platform changes, as the company hadn’t significantly redesigned the app for three years. Cabanas Los Quetzales For True EcoTurism In You
Cabanas Los Quetzales - Chiriqui - Panama
Cabanas Los Quetzales is a experience for those ecotourist with ideas of tranquility and complete peace away from hustle and bustle of the big city, lights, camera, action. If you are seeking relaxation, meditation and freedom from day to day life then Cabanas Los Quetzales Chiriqui Panama is definitely best choice anywhere in South America and beyond.
Tucked away in the highland cloud forest, Los Quetzales Lodge & Spa is ideal for those longing to retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern living. At 7260 feet above sea level (2,200 meters), the reserve has the highest lodging facilities in the country, and lies inside the primary cloud forest of Volcan Baru National Park, which was established in 1976. The Volcan is adjacent to the 407,000 acre Parque Internacional La Amistad, which straddles Costa Rica and Panama. Our 400 hectare reserve has been protected by the private efforts of its founders in 1970.
It is our privilege to be one of the only eco-vacation resorts in Panama or Costa Rica that offers overnight accommodations inside a national park.
Our climate varies from 75 degrees F. during a sunny day to 45 degrees F. on our chilliest winter night. But the one thing about our ambiance, which amazes most visitors, is the absence of biting insects – no mosquitoes, no chiggers, not even a stray no-see-um! Fortunately our area also lacks venomous snake species.
Getting to Los Quetzales is easy. We are only 1 1/2 hours by bus from the Costa Rica border, on excellent paved roads all the way to our main hotel and headquarters in the town of Guadalupe, adjacent to Cerro Punta. From there, for those guests who wish to visit the mountainside reserve inside the Park, we provide access on a rocked road via a 4-wheel drive or horseback. Many folks also enjoy walking to the cabin area, a gentle 30 minute climb featuring mountain scenery quilted with small vegetable patches and colorful gardens in the town of 400 inhabitants. Higher up, on the way to the cabins, you’ll walk past simple friendly homes of Guaymi indians.
I takes about seven hours by bus to reach us from San Jose, Costa Rica or Panama City, Panama. Those in a hurry to slow down and relax may choose a 50 minute flight from Panama City to David, or San Jose, Costa Rica to David, Chiriqui. From David, where we can arrange transportation for our guests, the drive to Guadalupe takes about one hour and thirty minutes. For more information write me at visitpanama.com@gmail.com and I'd be glad to assist you.

Isla Grande Colon Panama Is More Than Skinny Dipping In the Waters of The Caribbean
Islan Grande is a short trip from Panama City. Cordior Norte and 3 minor donations to the up keep of the road and you find yourself near Colon. Although the turn off from main road to Colon is a bit strange but once you are pass the "RED" supermarket, there is plenty of beauty and fun awaiting you in about 45 minutes of driving.
Isla Grande is a popular place in Panama among locals because of its seclusion, and beauty. Panamanians and tourists come from all places to the island to enjoy the water, snorkeling, fishing, listening to the sea, skinny dipping(at night mostly) plus fresh fish and lobster. Isla Grande is for relaxation and enjoying warm waters of the Caribbean side. The island's name does not really reflect it's size, but in comparison to the other islands that surround it. Isla Grande is by far the biggest island.
The present population, of afro-colonial origin, can be traced back to the period of massive forced migrations, specially from the regions of Guinea and the Congos, from where they take their name ¨Congos¨. Believers in magic, they still practice a rhythmic dance with its contagious drumbeat. You can visit as well the cathedral of the Black Christ, credited for numerous miracles. The day I travelled to Isla Grande was a Friday and there was plenty of activities to report. That will be the subject of another blog post.

Costa Del Este, Panama City, Panama Is Truly Something Special For Business, Residential And Now,Tsunami?
Having lived in Costa Del Estate Panama, near Panama City for the past year, I have a sense of the area. I have seen a huge growth in number of buildings around my complex and I see my ocean view being blocked away slowly. Progress happens and this is the price you pay for living in one of the most diverse countries in the world.
Costa del Este is a newer area of Panama, located just east of the center of Panama City. Costa del Este is home to several new, planned residential communities and high rise buildings, commercial shopping plazas, convenience stores, banks, schools, parks, direct access to major highways, office areas and an industrial park. Also, there are plans for the construction of at least two new supermarkets. There is two Super 99 near by already.
It is a popular and convenient area due to its many amenities, ocean views, and proximity to the center of Panama City and the Tocumen International Airport through the Southern Corridor.
The idea for the project began in the year 1993, when a investor group bought a land of 300 hectares in size, in the heart of Panama City. My friend Stuart decided to take this photo outside of my window on the day the sad announcement came that Japan had been hit with a 9.0 earthquake and there is a chance of tsunami in the area. Thanks god for Panama not effected by the events that are happening in Japan but lets not be so sure and forget that radio active material is in the air and it will eventually circulate through the globe. Life is precious so enjoy each other and your loved ones. This photo is of a future that will never happen. Panama will always remain complete safe.
